The next available application period will be for Spring Session.

Spring Application Period: Feb. 8 - 14

After Applying

If you do not receive this email, contact me before the end of the application period, so it can be verified that you have an application submitted as applications will not be accepted after the deadline.

General Information: There are typically 5 traffic ed sessions per year: Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer A and Summer B. Each session has its own online-only application period. If your child does not make it into the session, you must reapply for any subsequent sessions. It may take several attempts to be accepted into a session as there are typically more applicants than there are spots. Placement is determined by date of birth. Check the Traffic Ed Program Information & Schedules link to the left of this page for dates.

Traffic Ed is not a requirement in Montana. Once a child is 16, the licensing process can be started at the Driver License Station. Go to https://dojmt.gov/driving/driver-licensing/ for steps required to obtain a learner license without a traffic education program.
